Authorising Engineer Water

The role of the Authorising Engineer (AE-W) in healthcare is a requirement of Department of Health guidance, and varies between organisations to suit their needs, often including:

  • Attendance at Water Safety Group meetings

  • Development of Water Safety Plans

  • Auditing of compliance with HTM 04-01 & ACOP L8

  • Competence assessment of Authorised Persons (APs)

  • Training & mentoring of technical staff

  • Production of technical specifications

  • Support with capital programmes and projects

  • Troubleshooting
